When it comes to family gear that actually works for city life, the Evenflo Pivot Xplore All-Terrain Wagon is one of our most-used MVPs. We’ve pushed this thing through the bumpy sidewalks of Chicago, over zoo gravel paths, and across neighborhood parks—and it keeps delivering.
What It Crushes
(Literally and Figuratively):
- Smooth ride, even on rough sidewalks: For a wagon, it handles uneven curbs surprisingly well. We’ve hopped up and down curbs with zero drama.
- Built-in kid entertainment: Our kids sit across from each other and literally bounce a ball back and forth while we walk. It’s like a moving playpen. Bonus: the middle snack tray clicks in and out for easy cleanup.
- Parent approved, kid adored: Chloe asks us to pick her up from daycare in it. That alone tells you how much she loves riding in this thing.
- Folds better than you’d think: For a wagon, the fold is surprisingly compact. It collapses on both sides and stores decently in a standard car trunk.
- Solid design touches: There’s a large rear organizer perfect for tossing in jackets, wipes, or extra snacks. The two mini canopies aren’t full coverage but help with wind and light rain.
What to Know Before You Buy:
- It’s HEAVY. Like “you’ll groan a little when lifting it into the trunk” heavy. That’s the tradeoff for its stability and size.
- Not airport-friendly: Because of the weight and bulk, we leave this one home when flying. Great for road trips, not great for TSA lines.
- Canopy coverage is minimal: It works for light wind/rain but don’t expect full sun coverage like a high-end stroller.
Final Take: Is It Worth It?
Absolutely—if you’re a two-kid family who does lots of local adventures. This wagon turns a walk into an activity, and its sturdiness means you’ll use it for years. But if you’re traveling light or flying often, keep a lightweight backup stroller in rotation too.
