Zoe Travel Stroller

Our Favorite Travel Stroller: Zoe Double Review (from a Mom Who Tried 4 Others!)

We’ve owned five strollers. Yes, five. From city walks to airport gates, we’ve tested nearly every type of ride to find the one that truly fits family life with two kids. Here’s why we love the Zoe Twin+ (Double)—especially for travel—and why we bought it used and never looked back.

What Didn’t Work for Us (and Why)

Before landing on the Zoe, we cycled through four different strollers:

  • Mockingbird Single-to-Double
    • Heavy and bulky
    • Can’t fold with both seats attached
    • Tiny sunshade—not dermatologist approved 😅
  • Baby Jogger Double
    • Large wheelbase made it hard to steer
    • Just too bulky overall
  • Umbrella Stroller
    • Lightweight and easy—but only fit one kid
  • Wagon
    • Fun, but not practical for toddlers under 2
    • Definitely not travel-friendly

We needed something lightweight, easy to maneuver, and compact enough for urban living and air travel. And let’s be honest: I wasn’t going to drop $$$ on an Uppababy Vista.

Why We Gave the Zoe Double a Shot

We found a gently used Zoe Twin+ on Facebook Marketplace and figured—why not? If it didn’t work, at least we didn’t pay full price.

First impression? “Yes, we found a good one.”

What sold us:

  • It weighs around 19 lbs
  • Folds thin—we even measured to make sure it would slide behind our front door
  • Sunshade is amazing—it extends super far and unzips for even more coverage (huge win for a sun-conscious mom like me)
  • Fits through doorways
  • Glides well even over Chicago’s uneven sidewalks

A True Travel Companion

We’ve used the Zoe to:

  • Go through airport security smoothly
  • Gate-check with no issues
  • Navigate narrow hotel hallways and museum spaces
  • Stow in car trunks without playing Tetris

What Our Kids Think

Both kids are totally comfortable in it. The ride is smooth enough for short naps and they have good visibility. We didn’t splurge on all the extras—just a basic cupholder—but honestly, they’re happy riders.

Pros & Cons After 1.5 Years of Use

Pros:

  • Lightweight (even with two kids)
  • Super compact fold
  • Dermatologist-approved sunshade (long length)
  • Great for travel and daily city use
  • Fits through single doorways
  • Durable—even secondhand

Cons:

  • Under-seat storage is decent but won’t fit a big diaper bag
  • Doesn’t stand upright when folded
  • The front bumper bar isn’t a snack tray—it’s a single bar across both seats, so you have to lift the entire thing to get either kid in or out (though there is a double snack tray option)
  • New retail price is steep ($529), so buying secondhand is a great strategy

Would We Buy It Again?

Absolutely. If you’re a city parent, frequent flyer, or just want to avoid bulky strollers that take over your trunk—this is the one.
